Description
The Global Ocean – 200 million years hence
In more coastal parts of the global ocean, large reefs composed of rock and encrusted with various reef-building algae and clams predominate. There are many crevices here from which a predator may hunt, predators like the Octomoray. Descendants of the octopus, they no longer rely on their arms or siphons for locomotion, instead their muscular mantle has become a prolonged, streamlined tube that can squirm and undulate like an eel. These creatures measure up to 1.7 meters long, and generally ambush prey by lashing out from a sheltered crevice. Their bite has fast acting venom that kills the prey almost instantly.
