Smaugtober - Thorny Dragon

Thorny Dragons reach the size of a goose, and range from Lebanon and Turkey across Asia into Burma and Laos. They are mainly opportunists, eating any small animal they are able to catch, as well as consuming fruit, fungus and carrion. Their bodies are adorned with many pointed spines, which can inject painful venom. Though able to fly fairly well, they usually rely on active defence when faced with a predator.
