Ah the joys of spec, where animal lovers come to be eaten by animals.

I understand that you guys decided not to have any sapient organisms native to Spec as a protest against the Dinosauroid, but have you guys ever considered trying to implement it more realistically instead? Something like this might work.

I'm not a member, but I believe that "no sapients" was basically a Spec commandment. Even the Carpos were pushing it.

I'm just saying that they could have gone an alternative route to the Dinosauroid, rather than avoiding sapients entirely.

The other problem is that once you introduce a sapient species you have to speculate on things like culture, technology, and environmental effects--and all from the perspective of a non-human, non-mammalian civilization. If the point of a project is to showcase the complete ecosystems of the world instead, it's much simpler to just not have a civilization.

Hypothetical flightless pterosaurs always turn out really bizarre looking. I mean that in the best possible way.
