Could something that large actually swim through sand?

I always ignore scientific fact when it comes to sci-fi.

Well, depends on if it's sci-fantasy or hard sci-fi, hard sci-fi can be like speculative fiction and worldbuilding, you can give it as much scientific credibility as you want. But popular sci-fi or sci-fantasy are alot roomier, you can simply go with what looks or feels good, it can be ridiculous if needed. I mean, star wars has horses and humans, and animals that are claerly reptile, mammal, therapsid (reptomammal), or dinosaurian (they call it "reptavian"). Star Trek is even worse, the technology and setting are more scientifically sound, but most of their aliens are humans in make-up, and they have the excuse that all the races were seeded by a "master race" of humanoids, sounds abit BWFLI (because we feel like it).

It looks better than the one of Dixon (which was so ugly and pink it looked pretty vulnerable).
