I quite like those "Ye Olde" depiction of whales as crazy-look sea monster. I was inspired to draw one in that style a while back after I got the opportunity to dissect some whale intestines for parasites.

But damn, the smell!

I've smelled frozen dead dolphin, and caracal bones (which smell like cat pee).

The one I received was 4 days old and filled with yellow bile - it was only the relentless pursuit of parasite which allowed me to put my face so close to it for hours.

It's one of those smell you just can't get rid of because it just gets *in your head* - after you've gone home and showered and change everything, all of a sudden, you'll be reminded of the smell and feel as if you're going to gag...

I had a mole cricket spray me with mucus, and the smell seemed to stick in my sinuses for hours.

Haven't had a mole cricket spray me, but some of those hemipteran stink bugs - yeeeccchhh!!! And they sting real bad if the aerosol gets in your eyes!

I think in term decomposing stink, on a weight-for-weight basis, the phylum which stinks the most is Mollusca - I've managed to stink out a small building thanks to a small pot of cockles that had somehow decided to die overnight!

I always liked this head, for some reason, all dual-bespouted.
